Solo project for Finnhub ry

  • Met with the client to understand their business, goals, and vision for the new website.

  • Collected detailed information about their services, target audience, and brand identity.

  • Created initial wireframes to visualize the layout, structure, and user flow.
  • Held a follow-up meeting to present concepts, gather feedback, and align on the design direction.
  •

I used Procreate for initial wireframing to quickly sketch out ideas, Figma for building the first design iterations and prototypes, and WordPress with Elementor Pro for developing and launching the final live version of the site.

  • Designed a custom illustration for the homepage to visually represent the logistics network, including various forms of transportation (e.g., road, air, sea, rail).

  • Focused on creating a strong visual first impression that reflected the company’s scope and professionalism.

  • Handled the complete technical setup, including domain, hosting, and CMS configuration.

  • Developed the full website, integrating design elements and ensuring responsive, functional performance across devices.

  • Delivered a fully customized and professional site that met the client’s needs and showcased their services clearly.

  • Conducted thorough usability testing across devices and browsers to ensure a smooth user experience.

  • Reviewed content and layout to ensure the client’s core message and services were clearly communicated.

  • Made refinements based on feedback to ensure visitors can quickly understand what Finnhub offers and how to get in touch.

Solo project for FR Wood Oy

The client needed a new website and provided a logo along with the main brand colors (bright yellow and dark green). Beyond that, I was given creative freedom. In our first meeting, we reviewed reference websites and defined the overall direction for the project.

  • Created initial wireframes to outline the layout, structure, and user flow.
  • Presented these concepts in a follow-up meeting, along with an expanded color palette (adding two complementary shades), to gather feedback and confirm the design direction.

I used Procreate for initial wireframing to quickly sketch out ideas, Figma for building the first design iterations and prototypes, and WordPress with Elementor Pro for developing and launching the final live version of the site. This time, I also used Canva to develop concepts and present ideas to the client.

  •

As the client had no product photos yet, I used my own film photography for the front page, giving the site a polished, cohesive look. The client loved the outcome.

  • Handled the complete technical setup, including domain, hosting, and CMS configuration.

  • Developed the full website, integrating design elements and ensuring responsive, functional performance across devices.

The website is complete, but awaiting final client materials before going live. Launch is planned for autumn 2025, stay tuned

School projects

As part of a group project, we set out to build a digital service prototype for a garden planning app, following the Lean Startup method. Here are the key stages of our project:
  • Idea Generation: We brainstormed and decided to create a garden planning app.
  • User Research: We visited various garden shops to interview potential users and gather insights about their needs and interest in our app.
  • MVP Development: Based on the feedback, we created a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) to test our concept.
  • Initial Testing: We conducted a testing round with our MVP to gather user feedback.
  • Iteration: After analyzing the feedback, we made adjustments and enhancements to the app’s features.
  • Prototype Creation: We developed a new prototype with Figma and set up a landing page, Apila.online, to further test the product with potential users.

This project taught us valuable lessons about user-centered design and the importance of iteration in the development process.

In one of my school projects, my group used the Design Sprint method to create an ad campaign that aimed to make IKEA’s second-hand section more appealing. We decided to get creative and used IKEA’s old catalog materials to give our campaign a nostalgic touch while promoting sustainability. I was thrilled when the IKEA representative picked our project as the best from the sprint!

Design Sprint Phases:

  • Understand: We kicked things off by identifying the problem and gathering insights on how IKEA was currently marketing their second-hand section.
  • Diverge: Next, we brainstormed a bunch of ideas to make second-hand items more attractive to customers.
  • Decide: After that, we narrowed down our ideas and picked the most promising ones to move forward with.
  • Prototype: We then created a prototype of our ad campaign using a mix of the old catalog materials and our new designs.
  • Test: Finally, we presented our prototype to the IKEA representative and collected feedback to fine-tune our concept.

This project was a great opportunity to apply design thinking in a real-world context and showed me how effective the Design Sprint method can be in coming up with innovative solutions.

In this school project, my group collaborated with a startup company called ”Learnsy” to create a prototype for their learning app. Our goal was to design an engaging and user-friendly interface that would enhance the learning experience for users of all ages.

After developing the prototype, we hosted a testing event where we invited testers from Learnsy’s target audience to provide feedback. Participants explored the app and shared their thoughts on its features, usability, and overall design. This feedback was incredibly valuable in helping us understand what worked well and what needed improvement.

Through this project, we gained hands-on experience in product development and learned how crucial user feedback is in shaping a successful product for the startup.

In one of my course projects, my group and I were tasked with innovating something new, and we came up with the idea for a color-changing lamp. This lamp is designed to change colors based on the current market price of electricity, providing a visual indication of when electricity is cheap or expensive.

With guidance from our teachers, we transformed our concept into a working prototype. This project allowed us to combine creativity with practical application, and it was exciting to see our idea come to life. Our innovative lamp not only serves a functional purpose but also helps raise awareness about energy consumption.

Thesis - Analyzing this website with principles of UX-design

The thesis combines theory and practice, focusing on accessibility and core UX principles. It explains design choices, analyzes the site using five UX laws, and evaluates both usability and accessibility.

Illustration

Illustration and UI design for a game "Spellberg"

This was a personal hobby project focused on developing and refining my creative and design skills.

Brainstormed the core idea of the game: a wizard penguin on a magical quest to the center of an iceberg. Defined the key gameplay mechanics and user journey, focusing on a whimsical, adventurous tone suitable for casual mobile players.

Used Procreate for the main character illustration and  wireframing, Figma and Canva for UI design and prototyping.

Sketched out the app’s core screens and navigation flow in Procreate.

  •

I designed the visual language and interface elements using Figma, Canva, and Procreate. This included developing cohesive color palettes, selecting thematic fonts, designing interactive buttons, and creating character dialogue boxes. All tailored to suit the magical theme of the game.

I created an illustration of the main character, Penaglour, as well as a separate illustration depicting the entrance to one of the mini-games.
